Fifth grade is much different than fourth grade, isn’t it? What new responsibilities and challenges do you already have as a fifth grader? What is something difficult you’ve had to get used to? What is something new that you like? Have you learned anything yet? Tell me all about it!

Posted September 4, 2008, 7:44 amI used to teach fourth grade, so I know exactly how you feel! Fifth grade is so much different. Teachers really expect a lot more of the students – more responsibilities and independence. It was hard for me at first to let my students do more things on their own, but I really like it now!

Posted September 4, 2008, 7:48 amYes it is very different than fourth grade because it’s more challenging. I am a safety patrol so I have to get here early every morning so I can go to my post. Something difficult I had to get used to is going to gymnastics every night after school. It’s hard because I have to do my homework, get dressed, eat dinner, and do my hair in one hour. I like all my teachers. We’ve learned about fossils in Mrs. Messick’s class. In Mrs. Fenzel’s class we’ve been working on adding and subtracting decimals. It’s been really fun.

I really can not get over how late we eat lunch! I like having recess after lunch. I thought that I would not like fifth grade . But I relized it it so much FUN!!! What do u think about 5 grade?

So far I love fifth grade! I think that fifth grade is a lot different than fourth because… fourth grade was not the time to do things on your own. I think that I am going to have to get used to other teachers ways because I had the same teacher two years in a row! what I like about fifth grade is that you can do moer things onyour own.

Posted September 4, 2008, 7:50 amFifth grade is way different then fourth grade because in fith you get to do so many things independently.I like the way we do it this year beacause it will prepare us for middle school i am so excited this year because i have two really nice teachers. i like all the investingations we do in mrs.Messicks room and like the natural disaster projects we are working on. I also really like the decimal diner that we do in mrs.Fenzels class. I am so excited for this year!

You have to make sure your parents sign your agenda in Mrs. Messicks class. We also have to make sure we check out books from the library for our investigations. Something new that i like is the investigations in Mrs. Messicks class and i also like my math teacher

in 6th grade i`m going to miss this school.

Something new about this year is that, for one thing, all of the things that we are learning are a little bit harder than last year. Harder math and harder books to read. Although probably, at the end of this year I’ll think that it is easy. Another thing that is different is that we have more responsibilities. Like, we can take our math text books home, but we have to take care of them . Fifth grade really is different from fourth grade.
Posted September 4, 2008, 7:52 amIknow that Ihave to be more organized and quicker at moving from class to class. Also in Fifth grade you have to be responsible for your own stuff. At first I was a little freaked because I thought I would do bad. I now realized it is AWESOME! I have to get used to reading a lot more and being a lot more responsible. I love my new teachers! They are very nice. I have learned a lot of new math I like it a lot though.

I am sort of afraid of what Im going to get on the test, but Ill be fine because mrs. Fenzel said she already has about eight grades already so Im to bad. Also I think Ive made a few new friends already, like Zach. At first he only knew a few people like Drew, and I didnt know him either, but now I know him a lot better and I learned that he is very good at soccer. So Id say Im adapting to fifth grade pretty good. Also our new responsibilitys are : tv studio, patrol, and most important, role models to the younger students. Something difficult this year is having a new teacher, because last year we got used to Mrs.Insley staying with us , but this year, surprizingly and sadly, she left. Now we have to get used to a new teacher, but i think its going pretty well. Also, 6th grade math will probably be much more difficult and much different from last year. I think something exciting that has happened is that i am starting phantom of the opera book, which is really god as a movie too. I think i have learned a little bit more about decimals. This year will probably be fun!

Some new responsibilities and challenges I’m ready for are working on a sixth grade level and being able to do more things as a fifth grader. There is not really that much thats difficult and had to get used to because I pretty much have the same class. Some stuff I like about being in fifth grade is band. Also,having recess back to back from lunch. I have got a little bit more knolege on adding and subtracting decimals becase I already know a little bit about them. So yes I do enjoy fifth grade.

Science is a little different because we are calling the science experiments investagations and we didnt have as many investagations last year and now we’re having a lot. The new responsibilities are that now we have to bring snacks every day for the snack we have in Mrs.Messick’s class. Something diffacult that we have to get used to is that we have todo all the math for the day in about 45 minutes every day. Something new that I like is all the investagations and playing restraunt for math. I’ve learned about fossils,volume,playing restraunt,and arachnie.

Also we have to read at least 10 chapter books for accelerated reader. Another difference is we have already done one project and are starting a science project. Last we take our math books home and they stay home so we don’t have to take them home and then bring them back to school.

A new responsibility is that we dont have a friday folder, so we are exspected to get are graded work areself. Also , we have to do investigation more often, and because of that, we have to realy work hard to get a good grade. A challenge for me is thet I was going to be in a lower math group, because I was reaaly upset, my dad changed the minds of the people in the office so I could be in Mrs.Fenzel’s class.That is a challenge because I have to show the people that thsay werent wrong for swithing my math class, by working realy hard and doing my best.

Yeah, well I have to be a lot more responsible. Now we also have to do sixth grade work and tests. Something i had to get used to was a different teacher because i have had the same teacher for two years in a row. This year i have two different teachers. I like howwe get a snack instead of being starved to death. Since nothing is to new yet I haven’t learned much anything. I know though that I will learn at least something in this school year! 5th grade is great so far. I love my teachers they are really nice! It is kind of cool i realized that I get to meet a new kid and some new teachers. I have heard really good tings about both of my tachers. Math sounds really cool and i am looking forward to having such a great year in fifth grade. This year i am hopefuly not going to have such a hard time with tests. The study guides were helpful but not when I had them twice every chapter. Thanks

Like the tail of despearuax, pompeii, and many other plays that our class has learned!!!!!!! I is soooooooooo much fun!!!

I like Fifth grade too. I think so because we can start getting ready for middle school.Something difficult? i dont really know yet it is only the 3rd week of school but i think it might get harder though.New Responsobilities? Well i know i have to keep everything organized. I have to study for any test for 15 minutes. Practice my clarinet for 15 minutes. Do my homework everynight. And keep my room clean.
Have I learned anything yet? I have learned how to play notes on my clarinet. I have learned how to add and subtract decimals. And I learned how to put decimals on a number line.
